Occam's Razor

Not the usual prattle today. Today's QOTD is wise and classy:
"entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem"
- Occam's Razor
First, thank you Wikipedia for the Latin: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor .

Second, Occam's Razor is: "All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best."
A corollary? Follow the money.

PS - Below. Razor. Get it? Oh well, so much for "classy."

I heart Lou

I heart Lou.
QOTD:
"Winning is like a massage. It's a relaxer. It relaxes you..."
- Lou Piniella, manager of the Chicago Cub
Can I have two quotes of the day in one day?
Yup.

Speaking of dumb smart people

Smart and dumb... seems like the theme these days. QOTD:
"In a democracy, I realize you don't need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels... When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that's the dictator, because he speaks for all the people."
- Jimmy Carter, source WSJ: online.wsj.com/article/SB120821750997114561.html
I'm speechless... not a good state for a blog, but that statement doesn't require a syllable of commentary.

Trent for President

Who to vote for? Trent or Barry?

QOTD #1:
"You can have my isolation
You can have the hate that it brings
You can have my absence of faith
You can have my everything"
- Trent Reznor, "Closer"
And QOTD #2:
"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
- Barry O'Bama, April 2008
I'll bet you a dollar that Barry is smarter than I am. Heck, two dollars!

Why is then, that the obvious point is missed... Barry, being smart ain't the be-all and end-all. And surprise, religion isn't the opiate of the masses. Registered gun owners and hunters aren't committing crimes and killing people. People who want to control who crosses into our country are not bigots.

Of course, the viewpoint fits the agenda. We need Barry and the feds to save us from religion and guns and bigots and rich people and companies and so on and so on.
OK. I'll pass actually.

Does this mean that Barry himself isn't really religious? Got me?
Does this mean that Barry is an expedient populist who will say anything to appease the crowd he's in front of? Yup.
No knock on Barry though... same as the old boss.
Yeah, when did Jimmy Carter malaise come back in fashion? YIKES!

Vote for Trent!
