Text Box: BPR Explanation
The BPR attempts to statistically rank each team's performance in each Yahoo category. This is done in 3 steps/tables:

Table 1 - Weekly Averages
Calculate each team's average score in each category for the entire season.

Table 2 - Category Rankings
Determine each team's rank (based on average) in each category

Table 3 - BPR
The BPR is a sum of category rankings. The higher your BPR, the better your team ranks. The columns are:
Hit BPR = sum of ranks of all hitting categories,
Pitch BPR = sum of ranks of all pitching categories,
BPR = sum of hitting + pitching BPRs - 5 (0.5 per category),
BPR Rank = rank of each team's BPR (1-8, where 1 is best, 8 is worst)

The best possible BPR is 75... 8's in all 10 categories minus 5 (8 *10 - 5).
The worst possible BPR is 5... 1's in all 10 categories minus 5(1*10 - 5).
That "minus 5" adjustment reflects adjusting all category averages down 0.5, so that the average rank for each category is 4 out of 8, it should be.

That is all... yow, bill
