Blather

Dude: Oh, fuck it.
Lebowski: Oh, fuck it. Yes, that's your answer... that's your answer to everything.
- The Big Lebowski, youtu.be/xJjCnWm5cvE?t=2m20s

First pitch - Ian Happ (cub) knocked the first pitch of the MLB season out of the park. Happ patrols 2B for the San Antonio Kindness.

Gleyber - uber-prospect Gleyber Torres (nyy) is called up to The Show for the first time. Even more exciting for him... he's a Killer Maltese now. (he he)

Scooter on a scooter is the $$$ for Scooter Gennett booblehead day, Jun 9 in Cincy. Strong! (ha)

Wheel. Of. Decision. - We used the Wheel of Decision to pick teams posting on Facebook during the All-Star break. Fun! And, this is a great site, wheeldecide.com.

Hottest ever - I screen-grabbed this Heat Map from week 20. Look at the San Antonio Kindness... the team is red hot in every single category. Ain't seen that before. YOW!.

<insert more blather here, Bill>

LP3 All-Star Team

Here's your 2018 LP3 All-Star team. These are the top Yahoo-ranked players at each position at the MLB All-Star break (that's Jul 16, 2018 for you and me). Go!

  • C - #85   E Gattis (hou), San Antonio Kindness
  • 1B - #20   Freddie Free (atl), Vat City Pope
  • 2B - #5   Javy Baez (cub), RBI
  • 3B - #1   Jose Ramirez (cle), San Antonio Kindness
  • SS - #2   F Lindor (cle), Bay City Brawler
  • OF - #3   JD Martinez (bos), Naperville Meerkat
  • OF - #4   Mookie (bos), RBI
  • OF - #6   Trout (laa), CRYO
  • DH - #7   Ozzie Albies (atl), Boston Poindexter

  • SP - #12   Mad Max (was), PTBNL
  • SP - #13   Mr. Kate Upton (hou), Killer Maltese
  • RP - #36   E Diaz (sea), NOTO Beard
  • RP - #37   Blake T (oak), RBI

Honorable mentions: #8 Bregsy (hou), CRYO-TED; #9 Aa Judge (nyy), PTBNL; #10 T-Story (col), Bread; #18 L Severino (nyy), Killer Maltese.

The RBI lead all teams with 3 All-Stars. Hey now!

The biggest surprise in this list is its lack of surprises. Everyone was drafted, no free agents here. Half the All-Stars (7/14) were drafted in the first or second round. The lowest draft picks: E Gattis (round 10), Blake T (round 10), and Ozzie Albies (round 11).

Top player in the league at the break... J-Ram of the S.A.K.!!!

1975 Boog Powell
Fun selection here... BIG Boog Powell calling for a popup. (ha)
Boog was MVP in 1970; the Oriole won the World Series that year.
Boog on Baseball Ref

There's another Boog Powell in MLB today, but he's no relation to the real Boog.
It's just a nickname his father gave him.

Back to the the Orioles... they were good in 1971 too.
Boog was an All-Star, and the team had 4 SP's with 20+ wins: M Cuellar 20-9, P Dobson 20-8, Jim Palmer 20-9, D McNally 21-5.
The Oriole, however, lost their repeat bid to the Pittsburgh Pirate in the 1971 World Series, losing 4-3 in 7 thrilling games. 1971 World series
