Game summary - The 2008 donnybrook between HOFFMAN and Melonville was simply the best title game in Payton34 league history. The ultimate game was both the highest scoring in league history and the closest. The previous high score in a title game was 60 point, by last year's Naperville championship squad. In 2008, both teams blew that tally away.

The HOFFMAN HILLBILLY proved the odds-makers wrong to best the heavily-favored Larue, Payton34's #1 team, 79-74.
Just look at these scores...
  • The 2 QB's washed out at 18 a piece
  • BILLY WR's outscored the Larue 22-10
  • Larue RB's outscored the BILL 14-8... BTW,the first-round picks of both teams were ineffective: AP of the BILLY, Westbrook of the Larue
  • The 3rd RB choice for each team was critical... HOFFMAN's K Smith outscored Melonville's rookie phenom S Slaton 11-4.
  • Boffo TE production: Witten 10 for the BILLY, Gates 14 for the Larue
  • The BILLY had 5 players score in double-digits!
Well, congrats HILLBILLY JAY on his first title!

And congrats to Melonville Eric (aka "the Poap"), for once again dominating the league... title or no.

Thanks to both owners on excellent seasons and a boffo finale!
Next year!
peace... yow, bill
