July 6, 2000... Bill Krieger
Here's an update, just 15 days short of your favorite road trip... Friday July 21, 2000 - Sunday July 23, 2000 in Boston, MA to check out the local scenery and a White Sox / Red Sox game at Fenway Park.
First things first... Here's the "confirmed", "lock and load", "ready to rock" list of guys going on the Fenway trip:
Mark Krieger ( mkrieger12@hotmail.com )
Brian Krieger (???)
Tommy Dieboldt ( Thomas.Dieboldt@nextel.com )
Rob Reed ( goreed@earthlink.net )
Rob "Skinner" Triol ( robtriol@hotmail.com )
Bill Krieger ( williamt@williamt.com )
John Raimondo ( jrai@ntsource.com )
We're booked.
Friday July 21
Leave Chicago Midway airport at 8:50 am on ATA flight 527. Arrive Boston at 12:05 pm (noon-ish).
Sunday July 23
Leave Boston at 6:40 am on ATA flight 335. Arrive Chicago Midway at 8:40 am.
I know the flight times are a little goofy, but this is dictated by prices... flying at normal times costs (a lot) more.
Got it! I scalped two groups of four tickets for the Saturday July 22 game. I'm pretty excited because I think these seats are pretty cool. I have found two different game times listed: 1:00 pm or 5:00 pm. I think that this is because of TV. If Fox decides to put the game on TV, then the game'll be at 1:00, otherwise it'll be at 5:00.
Anyway, we're at:
We have 8 seats so that Rob Reed's main guy Bob, who lives in the greater Boston area, can join us.
Both groups of tickets are down the right field line. You can see a nice seating chart at:
http://www.redsox.com/tickets/seating.html
Click on our section(s), well click on section 1 in the right field corner and you'll see our "view"... well, sort of.
Excellent.
These are just my ramblings and are subject to change the second this is posted...
Now, remember rule number 1: "Do what you want". If you want to go to Friday night's game, then start recruiting people (if you want company that is). Also, if you have any good tourist ideas, then pass them around.
We (me) still have one big and one small thing to do:
The big question is who to root for. The Red Sock are ok, but the White Sock could be on their way to the playoffs. It would be great to have a Chicago team in the World Series, but shit, the Sock fans are unsufferable. I've got it: If the Cub take this weekend's series against the Sock, then I'll root for the White Sock in Boston... otherwise, go Nomar!
yow, bill ( email )
PS - In case you were wondering... yes, the background is "Fenway's green monster green" ( z_bg_fenway.jpg ) sampled from the Red Sock site.
