Here's the premise... We (Bill and Felecia) are building a new custom home and are nearing the end of the design phase. Well, pretty much everyone has their pet home ideas and home experiences (good and painful), and that creativity is what we are trying to tap into.

So, you want a hundred bucks? Simple: You help us improve our new home plan, and we'll send you a crisp, new $100 bill. There aren't many details, but here they are:

• You can see the latest, greatest home plan here online (below) or we can send you a legal-pad-size copy of the plan for you to peruse. Use the plan as a starting point.
• Check out the plan and send us your ideas (as many as you want) for improving the plan to:

• Listen, an idea can be anything... large or small. It can be a totally new feature ("add an elevator"), a minor improvement ("use sliding doors in the bathroom"), a correction of a mistake in the plan ("escher couldn't build this house because..."), a decorating idea ("put plants around your fieplace so that..."), or a drawing or color scheme or whatever.
• If any of your ideas makes it into our final home plan, then we'll send you $100. If more than one of your ideas makes it, then we'll get into the "significance of the idea". If you send us enough significant ideas, then we'll take care of you.
• The challenge ends October 31, 2000... send us your ideas by then.
• Shortly after the deadline, I'll post the winning ideas here at williamt.com

One final note... "The Challenge" is not a joke. My builder, however, laughed at the prospect of anything useful coming from this contest. I figure he was laughing half at me and half at you. So, send us your best, and we'll prove him wrong.
